Il
Cucciolo is what is known in Italy as an Agriturismo
or Holiday Farm. That is a working farm that has apartments
to rent to vacationers. Our year long renovation in
2005-06 has preserved the Umbrian architecture of the
High Valley of the Tiber so there are three stone houses
and a heated swimming pool. The garden around the houses
and the pool is is fenced in and separated from the
fields dedicated to organic farming and to.
The
25 Hectares of the farm are divided in several areas.
We have nine hectars of organic fields and use no toxic
pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. This creates
a safe and healthy environment for your family. We grow
organic cereals, olive trees, fruit trees like apples,
pears, plums and figs, and a vegetable summer garden.
We have fifteen hectars of forest which are surrounded
by hundreds of other hectars of "open to the public"
forest. It is an area rich of mushrooms and truffles
during the right seasons. You can go bike riding, take
mountainous walks, or relax by the lake. In the year
2006 we decided to host some bee hives and we are now
certified to produce honey. We sell organic grains to
the local market and other pruducts like jams, honey
or other kind of preserves to the customers of our Holiday
Farm. We have an entire hectar of fenced in field that
is dedicated to dog training and other forms of canine
entertainment.
We
named our organic farm "Il Cucciolo"; (which
means "the puppy") because we have created
the most dog friendly establishment in Italy. Our specialty
is creating wonderful vacations for travelers with
dogs or children, but we welcome other guest as
well. We are surrounded by forest and fields and our
family runs the farm and lives on the site so we can
be sure that our guests receive the kind of support
that people who travel with pets and kids always need.
To learn more about our activities with children we
invite you to visit our dedicated page named Children,
Sport and Group Activities.
The
area dedicated to the dog is visible from the houses
but it is on the other side of the white road. To learn
more about all we can offer to your dog visit our page
